Owen/Cox Dance Group’s COVID-19 Statement and Plan

The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply impacted the performing arts and has pushed Owen/Cox Dance Group to adapt to the ongoing health crisis. Owen/Cox Dance Group continues to find alternative and creative ways to present new music and dance works and remain connected to our supporters, artists, employees, volunteers and Board of Directors. The safety of these parties is of utmost importance to us. This plan outlines our COVID-19 safety plan for our 2021-2022 season.

The ever-changing nature of the current health crisis requires a plan that is flexible and can change with health updates and CDC guidelines. OCDG’s 2021-2022 Season includes LIVE events that are both INDOOR and OUTDOOR and DANCE FILMS that are recorded without audiences. All performances adhere to CDC guidelines. INDOOR VENUES require limited and socially distanced seating as well as a mask mandate for all audience members.

INDOOR EVENTS:
  • Limited and socially distanced seating
  • Mask mandate required for all audience members
  • All dancers, staff and crew are fully vaccinated.
  • Dancers will not wear masks while onstage
OUTDOOR EVENTS:
  • Outdoor events will commence in the summer of 2021
  • Outdoor events will comply with the safety plans of the venues we work with
  • See Starlight Theatre PLAN
  • OCDG will maintain contact tracing information at any and all public events
Here are a list of safety precautions that Owen/Cox Dance Group is instilling for our 2021-2022 Season:

Established, basic safety practices:
  • Physical distancing. Keep six feet/two meters away from people to the extent possible.
  • Keep social distance onstage and in the audience.
  • Wear a mask at all times when in contact with others.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Respectfully refrain from shaking hands or hugging anyone.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with the elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Throw the tissue away after using.
  • Use an alcohol based sanitizer (60% alcohol or higher) if you are not able to
access a sink for hand washing.
  • Take your temperature regularly and get tested periodically if you are at risk.
  • Do your best to refrain from touching anything without hand sanitizing before and
after. This includes mics, instruments, lounge tables, refrigerator handles, door handles, headphones, studio equipment, dance bars, cases, gear bags, etc.
  • Communicate honestly with your co-workers, employer or contractor if you are uncomfortable going to work.
