Picture
Jeramy Zimmerman is thrilled to become the Artistic Director of Take the Stage!
Jeramy brings decades of teaching experience to her new role. Her teaching credentials include working with AileyCamp Baltimore, creating educational materials for the Kennedy Center, being a teaching artist in the New York City public schools, and 20 years of teaching yoga and meditation to court-involved youth. She has worked to inspire and uplift students through dance. She is thrilled to synthesize her knowledge and practices into leading Take the Stage.

Jeramy is a dancemaker, performer, and producer. Since returning to Kansas City from New York City in 2016, she has continued to create work and
build community. She currently co-produces Making Moves with Kyle Mullins and recently completed a Charlotte Street Artist Residency.

We are thrilled to have Jeramy and to see her utilize her extensive teaching experience with Take the Stage!

Work hard.
Always do your personal best.
Never give up.

Our Mission
Take the Stage is a high-energy, in-school dance residency program designed to uplift and inspire youth to excellence. Through a positive and dynamic experience in the arts we provide children the opportunity to discover the tools necessary to become successful in academics and in life.

Our Focus
We work with students in urban core schools where 90% qualify for free and reduced lunches. No child pays a penny to dance with us. We believe that the performing arts is a powerful force to motivate children to reach their full potential regardless of background or ability.

Our Results
  • 90% of students feel more able to persevere and excel
  • 86% of students feel more confident working in a group
  • 84% of students are willing to try new things
